Found this little gem at a local antique mall yesterday.
The number is visible in the photos.
My Model 60 has a bit of room when in this holster, so I assume it was made for a larger frame revolver.
Regards,
Tom

Howdy ThreedFlier,
It appears to be S&W's version of a Berns Martin rig. I think Bianchi
made a version of it called a 9R, yours could be for a K or N frame. I've
been looking for one for years. Nice snag.

Shoulder rig

Thanks for the help on ID of this holster.

Apparently it is designed having the revolver upside down and on the left side of the body. Not a very efficient design....but an interesting holster.

Any idea when it may have been made?

Tom

This style of holster was very popular from the late 60's - late 70's. Think Steve McQueen in Bullet. Both Bianchi and Safariland offered these. They are as comfortable as any shoulder holster can be. With a little practice they are as fast as any shoulder holster will be.

Yours appears to be in good shape and should give you lots of use if properly taken care of.

In my 1984 Gil Hebard catalog it is shown as a #03 holster and fits 2", 2.5" and 3" revolvers. The retail was 28.25 and the dealer price was17.00 they wanted you to specify gun model and barrel length, it came only in russet color and RH cross draw only. After looking at your leather harness yours might be higer because what I was describing came with a nylon web harness. Jeff
