If you get troll/junk calls on your cell or landline the following No. 866-725-2769, calls and makes out like they are NRA, they are not NRA so do not give them any personal info. They are nothing but scammers.

There are several numbers they are calling from. Suspect whom ever it is, they could be cloaking. I've got an app to block these bozos on my mobile. Other numbers are 877-728-3486, 703-939-9558, 703-988-6387, 703-291-9005, and 703-348-6523. Same outfit, National Recovery Association (NRA) and they don't quit.

I got a call from 703-348-6523 a few days ago. I don't answer my phone if I don't know who it is from.
Edit: I wonder if the NRA got hacked and our info stolen?

I've found an effective technique to deal with cold calls is to say "I'm writing your information down and calling the state police when I hang up."

To block these types of call on my landline, I got a "pro call blocker newest version 2.2" from Amazon. It stores up to 1,500 numbers. This device doesn't just block the call, it also prevents the phone from ringing while it is checking the number.
My phone company has built-in call blocking, but it can only store 30 numbers.

I got that about 3 weeks ago. My girlfriend got one too. These calls were on our cell phones

I have been told 866 area code is a diffident no no....
Saw this thread and looked at the call history on my cell phone and sure enough, there is was, a call from 703-988-6387. But like other here I don't answer if I don't recognize the number. If it's a legitimate call, well that is what voice mail is for.

I have had numerous calls from various anonymous callers and usually post comments on the sites offered by google. I now take unknown anonymous calls and put the receiver next to my fart machine and turn it on until I hear the busy signal. It has reduced the number of such calls. Incidentally, on these response sites the usual reference is to National Rifle Association, whom they claim to have called, or National Recovery Association, which I haven't spoken to.

If I don't know who is calling, I just don't answer the phone. Less than 10% of these calls bother to leave a message. Scams, or just low life scum. I certainly don't want to talk to them.

I get a few calls from pollsters. I never bother with them. Virtually all polls are rigged anyway.
