I'm a S&W fanboy through & through, but I'm a southpaw looking for a sub/micro compact to supplement my M&P 9c. I've looked at the Shield & Bodyguard but believe me when I tell you I'm useless w/ a righty pistol & need/am much more comfortable w/ a full ambi firearm - which brought me to the Beretta Nano. I can't find a local gun range that has one to rent. Anyone care to chime in with their thoughts on Nano? Any experiences?

The intel I'm getting is that they are too much like the SIG's newest micro 9mm...that is...ammo senitive.

They tend to work with only 1 brand of ammo...you have to figure out which one it is..:(

What happens w/ the wrong brand of ammo?

Mine works just fine with my ammo and any/all factory stuff.

The first ones seemed to like heavier 124 gr bullets but now they will shoot 115 gr. It works out of the box compared to say the Kahr PM 9 which requires a 250 round break in.

You do not need "tools" to take it apart, the take down lever will turn with the rim of a case or a penny. You do not need to press the striker release button, just check the gun us empty and pull the trigger like a Glock.

The gun is a tad bigger than the Kahr so not a true pocket gun.

It is very well made.

I bought one a few months ago. I figured out the Kahr CM9 mag extension (+0) fits and gives you a better grip. I like to carry a gun in a pocket holster in my back pocket. After carring it a couple times I couldn't get past the feeling I was gonna butt shoot myself. I'm a revolver guy anyway so I sold the Nano. CDNN has them for $389. I don't know if that's a good sign for the longevity of the Nano or not.
