Ive been to 10 forums, nobody will help, I did not know where to post this on the forum sorry!
I just bought a a Smith & Wesson and cannot figure out anywhere how old it is or what its worth and ive been looking for hours on end! here is the specs on it PLEASE HELP! and Thanks in Advance!
Smith & Wesson on left side of barrel
38 s&w special ctg on right side of barrel

C 2465XX on bottom of butt thanks

A picture would help greatly, but it probably is a pre Model 10 made in 1953.

Yuppers, a M&P or pre-model 10. These guns were used by police agencies all across the country. IMO the example you have there is probably worth $200 give or take depending on the bore and mechanical soundness.

The fwd hemisphere sight says a few many years old. It looks as the same model William Holden was carrying, seen in the movie, "The Bridges at Toko-Ri", around '54. Nasty ending.
