New to firearms, new to S&W. At least as an adult - I do remember that Dad had an old .22 wheelgun when I was a kid, I don't even remember the model number. My next exposure to S&W was that we drove past the factory last year because my brother in law lives in Westfield.
I just today picked up my first purchase, an SD40VE. I was at a gun show and wasn't really thinking yet of buying anything, but I do have my CCW application making its way through the "mill" so I thought that it would be good to have something to "C" when I do get the permit.
My brother (retired LEO) was at the show with me and he gently steered me away from some no-name brand hardware and over to the display case with the Smiths. A bit more than I wanted to spend, but what the heck.
Picked up some white box Winchester and he is going to spend some quality time with me this weekend at the range. He was a firearms instructor for the PDs in his county when he was still with his department on active duty, so I welcome both the chance to sit down with him and the chance for him to teach me a thing or two.
Looking forward to starting this adventure and learning all I can...
