Hi (noob) - Decisions, decisions...

Hi all, from a lurker turned registrant.

Have no doubt a 15-22 is in my future, just now trying to decide which one (std, MOE, perf center). I know this rifle is the "gateway drug" to bigger things (and my step-day is the enabler here since he has an AR).

I have some limited handgun exp, and grew up hunting w/ a Savage .243.

I'm extending a thank you to you all for the wealth of knowledge & opinions on this forum (and pics too). I hope that I will be able to contribute in the near future.

Which one to get? Well I bought a Standard 15-22, and it turned into:

If I could do it all over, I'd have just spent the extra $$$ up front for the MOE. Even after adding the MOE furniture, I still don't have the one thing the MOE edition has: a quick release sling mount on the lower receiver.

I have no experience with the performance center model to be able to give you a credible opinion.

For what it's worth, the MOE is worth it compared to the standard version. That is, if you want the flip up sights and QD sling attachment on the lower receiver. I got the MOE for those reasons. Plus, it's cheaper to buy the MOE with that stuff on it than to buy the standard version and put it all on.

Thanks for the input fellas. Decided on the MOE, and feel I got a decent deal.

Now.... time to research some glass.... hahaha
