Hi Point 995 Carbine

Will anyone admit to owning one of these? I will! These things are a hoot to shoot. I've had at least one or two of them on hand off and on for several years. I've always had the 9mm versions and I would like to run across the .45 ACP model.
They're not real pretty to look at but they work and are pretty accurate for a handgun caliber carbine. The dollar to fun factor is unreal.

Yeh...I got one. I don't really like it much and have not shot it in several years.

I have one and have a lot of fun with it. Put a thousand rds through it since New Year's.

Mine has a red dot, front grip and compensator.

I planned on getting a 40S&W (same ammo as my M&P), then a guy at work said he had the 9mm version that he'd give me. So I took it.

I got a chance to shoot the 9mm with red dot and it was extremely accurate. For the price, it's hard to beat.

Ugly as a mud fence but always works... kinda the AK-47 of the Western world. Good value for the money, just homely.

I bought one several months ago, and have been very pleased with it. I shoot cast lead bullets through mine, which I cast my own bullets and hand load, cost per round is about .06 cents per round, cheaper than .22 ammo these days.

And accuracy wise, I can hit a bowling pin at 100 yards every time with my pet cast lead hand load...

Much better accuracy than a Rock River AR-15 in 9MM I had, it was terrible, like 6" at 40 yards, could not hit a man sized target at 100 yards, and that was a very expensive rifle with equally expensive magazines.

High Point Carbines, great rifles, I'd recommend them!

I have one of those and really like it. I can shoot a couple inch group with open sights at 50 yards all day long. It's much more accurate than any pistol at that range and for only 300 beans - it's just great!

I'm shocked that only Beretta and Hi Point have picked up on this market for pistol-caliber carbines. (not referring to lever guns here). It's just a pistol with a longer barrel, plastic stock and peep sights. The Berettas are $800-$900, and this one - just as good for all of my purposes - is only $300.

I had one of these in 9mm and dumped it after it fired out of battery. I'm a lefty so I got a face full of hot gas. Luckily my safety glasses protected my eyes.
