Like most of you, I enjoy Hickok45's videos. They're informative, and entertaining. I love the way he cracks himself up when he hits the targets! He knows tons, and he's a great shot.

Recently, I was watching his review of the Randall Bowie knife. He states that the blade is a full three-eights of an inch thick. Then he states, "Now for you folks up in Kentucky, that's larger than one-quarter".

On another video, he said something else derogatory towards Kentucky, in fun I'm sure, but I can't remember what it was.

My question, is there a rivalry between the two states (Tennessee and Kentucky), or is this just Mr. Hickok's sense of humor? Just curious!

I check his vids almost every day - learn a lot (and I'm 67). We recently got a DVD player that links with our home network so that we can get U-Tube on our 60" HD TV. My wife likes his vids also - mainly because they are so non-tactical and common sense. I think that a lot of credit has to go to his son John who shoots/edits the videos - they have a sweet set-up that requires a lot of work to make it seem seamless & fun.

The gun community really needs guys like this speaking for those of us than cannot do it as well.

Thanks Greg & John.:)

I look forward to his jabs at Kentucky folks. He is a recently retired teacher, and in one video where he was comparing the magazine capacities of some firearms, he had rounds of ammo out on his shooting table that he used for a basic arithmetic lesson for his neighbors from Kentucky.

"This particular rifle was made in 1903. For you folks in Kentucky, that's over 100 years ago."

I enjoy his vids as well. He never takes himself too seriously like some of the other YouTubers out there. In a different vein, but also gun related, Ian McCollum from Forgotten Weapons (and also In-Range TV) does an awesome job exploring the odd and interesting arms collecting from yesteryear.

But did you know that the Tennessee state flower s the highway cone?
Sure is, and we have a Lot of them. If you ask for directions the most likely answer is "Turn left at the dead cow just past the last cone". We all poke a little fun at each other down here but it is all done in fun. WE all get along. If doing something isn't fun, it probably isn't worth doing. Everybody have a nice day. :):):)

Yeah, they're jealous because the only real bourbon comes from Kentucky. I don't buy Tennessee whiskey.

Oh yeah, time to go pour another one.

(Maybe I shouldn't have showed up tonight.)

Only a great sour mash whiskey comes out of Tennessee. Genuine... double-rectified... certified pop-skull... aged in a keg. Jack Daniels... Lem Motlow... you get my drift.

Hell... bourbon... is a mixed-drink. Wild Turkey... is owned by some foreign enterprise.

And... KY... is just the name of some kind of sex-lubrication-jelly... in my opine.

Those pumpkins are always trying to sneak up on him! They never learn.:D

You'd think they would know better by now!

In one of his short ones I was just watching, he states, "When you're a hammer, everything looks like a nail. When you're an Uzi, everything looks like a watermelon!"

There are a couple other good gun teachers on YT, but he's my favorite.

Seems like a cool guy. Good shot. Fun videos to watch. But he makes a few factual errors. He called a M&P a Model 10 and said that the 38 Super in 1929 didn't get higher powered loads than the old 38 ACP until late 1930s. No, the higher powered loads were the reason for the new gun in 1929. Well, it's not schoolwork.

He's just tryin'.....

He's just tryin' to make sure you are paying attention.:)

Nothing wrong with Tennessee unless you live there. At least that's what I tell my brother that lives just outside of Nashville. ;)

But did you know that the Tennessee state flower s the highway cone?

No, no. That's Pennsylvania's. Didn't you know we only have two seasons here? Winter and construction. :D

Hickok45 is a hoot to watch, and I doubt any jokes he cracks at Kentucky's expense are made with malicious intent.

Bud's Gun Shop recently started the Hickok45 Auction Series. Every week or so Bud's auctions one of Hickok’s video guns with 10% of the proceeds donated to Hickok’s charity of choice, Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee.
