You know hickok45 from Youtube? What a great shooter.

While he was shooting he said: "going to use some Zen and send this little boy (the bullet) down range".

Is he talking about mental control and concentration, clear the mind, controlled breathing?

If whatever he does makes him that good, I want to try some. Does it come in pill form? :-]

What does he mean?

I like this .. but seriously. ya start to understand the zen part soon after you start trying shots into the next zip code.
muscle tension, breathing, heart beat, and even stray thoughts contribute to the bouncing cross hairs. add to that trigger control and reactions due to your anticipation of recoil and we have a lot of little things to keep track of. Thats where the zen kicks in you cant really keep track of it all so you disconnect and let it all be automatic. If any one part of the equation is misbehaving, isolate the issue. Its easier to focus on one thing than many

When I was shooting competetive trap I asked a visiting Remington rep for any tips. He was very rude and dismissive but finally told me I should read Inner Tennis. It worked pretty well for me.
