I stopped by the LGS today and hidden I found a 28-2. Looks brand new, with no blue wear or much of a turn line. It has a pinned barrel and recessed cylinder. SN N502346. I got it for $900. How did I do? I also came across a used snake. See the other thread.

Went to a good size show today and one of the vendors had a 1978 6” that appeared unfired without a box and the asking price was $1050. Of course asking and getting are two different things.

Very nice HP! Just a few years ago 6" Model 28-2s could be had for $400-$500 because everyone wanted 4" versions. 6" bbl. versions were kind of the redheaded stepchildren of N-frame S&W revolvers. Now they're selling for quite a bit more money, and deservedly so. HPs are very well made, rugged, accurate, and dependable revolvers. You should have a lot of fun with your new acquisition. Enjoy!
