Air Force Heritage Flight flyover to kickoff Super Bowl LVI in Los Angeles

Live stream at the link above to be lead by a P51 Mustang. Very cool, even for you non football fans.

Starts at 5 pm Central time.

It would have been cooler if they added an F4 or other older fighters, or even a B17 or B25, but still gotta love the P51 lead.

I would love to see the old Phantom fly again. When I was stationed at Manzano Base in Albuquerque, our squadron won some kind of award. (I don't remember exactly what it was.) Our prize was that each of us got to take a ride in either an F4 or an RB66. I chose the F4 and it was the thrill of a lifetime and I would do it all over again in a New York minute.

I'm curious why they had an A-10 in there, when an F-15 would have been more in keeping with the fighter mission of the others.
