I've been shooting a Rock Island 1911 in 9MM caliber for a year or so now, gotten kind of fond of it, so figured it was time to upgrade the grips. Came with a set of boring black plastic ones:

Ordered a set of Hogue "Cocabolo" wood grips in the Double Diamond pattern from Midway USA, cost like $33. Got them yesterday and was very pleased with the upgrade:

Nesting in an El Paso Saddlery "Tanker" shoulder holster, with this rig I may be welcome in a Middle Income Barbeque, or open carry at the grocery
store!

It looks styleworthy enough for my local HEB, although they frown on open carry...I was a stocking dealer for Hogue, always a quality product...I liked to visit the Hogue island at the SHOT Shows early when they had some of their finest on display...I could pick out several that I really liked, pay for them then leave them on display until the show was over and take them home...

Looking at your pics, I think I might need an El Paso shoulder rig for my 2" 1927 M&P Target......Ben
