Hogue grip on Shield M&P 9 M2.0 with crimson trace addon?

So I gleefully ordered a Hogue Handall Beavertail grip cover for my new M&P 9 2.0......to which, a week prior I had fitted a Crimson Trace green laser unit.

Realized when I went to install the grip cover that the cover needs to land where the trace does on the grip.

I contacted Hogue with this question but no reply yet.....

Is it safe to trim the hand grip to fit "around" the CT laser ? Or will that cause it to tear during installation?

Or will the CT somehow fit "over" the grip cover if I deinstall the CT and install the cover first?

Its only $10 for the cover, but hate to ruin it by just trying to cut it....

I bought one for the LCP2 we have and the wife likes the new feel. Figured I would try it on the S&W.

If you're going to trim it, I'd do it after install.

Well, I ended up using a hole punch, per a tech at Hogue, to make a hole for the pad.

That was fine, but during the (difficult) install that hole ripped.

Not a huge deal...not the prettiest install I guess but functional.

That was a PITA to get on!
