Found this show on Netflix.
It’s on the Outdoor Channel, found on a number of other cable, dish, etc.
The premise is to try to re-create movie shootouts with real guns, ammo.
Last night I saw them recreate the Mel Gibson ‘Payback’ shoots.
In one, Mel (Terry) was under the Chev suburban shooting up through the floor with a Beretta 92 and a Model 29.

I enjoyed 'Payback'. The original 'Point Blank' with Lee Marvin was ok but it had a Fellini feel to it.

I'll have to look out for Hollywood Weapons. Sounds interesting.

I'm not sure I see the point in it. I mean, it's still Hollywood make believe. No one will actually get shot. Stuff will be destroyed, but that's it. And frankly, lots of times Hollywood special effects look better than the real thing...more entertaining, too.

Imagine trying to recreate the opening scenes or the final shootout in The Wild Bunch? It'd be a big yawn, cause the original can't be topped, ever.

Rusty,

Two "Payback" films exist.

First the theatrical release with
Gibson narrating it and his riding
off after blowing up the bad guys.

The second, without narration, is
the one originally filmed. In it the
dog is definitely killed, Gibson never
exacts revenge on the top bad guys
and is seen dying as he's driven away
from Chicago Loop after an L-platform
shootout. This is the as written one
by Brian Helgeland. He. also about the
same time. won an Oscar for his screen
play for "L.A. Confidential." In one
interview Gibson wasn't too happy with
the "Extended" version nor with the clout
Helgeland exhibited with the studio.

I love Hollywood when they use automatic pistol and it runs out of ammo, and the person keeps pulling the trigger, and all we hear is click, click, and toss the gun.
