I have a couple of 60 year old George Lawrence holsters that I use to carry my S&W and Colt snubbies. I use these holsters simply because they suit me better than any new ones I have found.

They are both in very nice condition and I would like to keep them that way - understanding that they will be used as carry holsters.

Is there any leather treatment that I might apply to them that will preserve older leather and keep it from ultimately drying out and cracking?

Thanks!

I recently asked the same question. Lexol seems to be the most popular response. I have not purchased any yet so I have no personal experience.

Aerospace 303 Protectant is recommended by every manufacturer that has leather on my motorcycle (bags, seats, grips) and I'm very happy with the results. Don't see why a holster would be any different.

I would highly recommend Lexol Conditioner for ensuring longevity. There are other products for specific problems. If the pores are plugged with polish or a lacquer type finish it should be stripped. Angelus Products, offers a stripper. If the leather is just dirty, Lexol Cleaner would be good prior to applying conditioner. Saddle soap is a good cleaner but may remove more of the natural oils than the more modern Lexol cleaner.
Product made of oil may soften the leather to the point that it will not hold its shape. Neat's foot oil and Mink oil have been used for years but be careful not to overdo them. They are better suited to leather that must remain flexible or is frequently water soaked
