What holster are you guys with 5” Pros using? I’m in need of one for range/class use and concealable under a jacket (casual, not dress wear) that offers full coverage of the slide/barrel.

Thanks

I use a ridged plastic type Fobus paddle holster at the range. It's handy and easy to use but I'm thinking a small amount of the pro barrel may come out the bottom. Rest of the time it sleeps in a cheap canvas type holster that's screwed to the back of my beds headboard, and I carry the shield in a thin regular ole IWB kydex with belt clip. Also just bought a BG380 and same type Kydex.

To me the holsters incorporating kydex some how seem to fit the thinnest, lightest, retain well and easy on and off.

If it's simply for a class and not for competition, a Fobus paddle holster will work just fine. You should be able to find one with adjustable retention at most 'brick and mortar' stores (Academy, Gander Mtn, local Gun Shop, etc).

Comp-Tac is good if they have the size you want. Mine is OWB but shows unless you have a long coat or shirt.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm one of those guys that actually broke a Fobus I was using with one of my 1911s lol, I stopped using them.

I have a really nice Kydex holster for a Compact and Shield, made by Overwatch (Treadstone model). Sent an email asking if they can make one for the 5", waiting to hear back. I'll look in to some of the others suggested, was hoping to find something in-store for temporary use until one can be made.

The only time I'd carry it is during the colder months with my longer jackets which hopefully are behind me for the rest of the spring/summer. Of course in Colorado you never know. :D

KT-mech.com is my new favorite. Excellent quality, affordable, and easily converts from OWB to IWB (because it's slightly contoured, it's also very comfortable). Similar designs, but more expensive, from Bravo Concealment or Pitbull Tactical.

After looking around a bit and not getting a response from one vendor, I placed an order with KT-Mech for the Gunfighter model with suede lining. I'll post back after I receive it with my impressions of it. Thanks to you all for the various suggestions.
