I want to find a nice holster for this but everything I see is for a 4 inch gun. I have a couple of Galco holsters for my 4 inch M29 and 57's and they will work but aren't correct for the 27. Any suggestions? Is there a forum member that does custom work and could make me a holster? This M27 is my grail gun and should ride in an appropriate holster.

I went the “used” route and picked up a nice Lawrence pigskin holster for my 3-1/2” Model 27-2 on one of the auction sites for cheap. Many times I prefer vintage leather to some of the newer offerings. It’s already broken in and just fits the aesthetic of an older firearm better than the new stuff. Just my opinion.

I am having a Threepersons style holster made as we speak for a pre-27, 3 1/2 inch. Gentleman's name is Jim Roy at Talkeetna Archery. His work cell is 802-343-4775. He does great work and you can check him out on facebook. He is part-time right now. I have included a pic. of a chest holster he had hanging up when I stopped by to go over my wants.

Here's a hand-carved and lined BBQ holster I had a SWF member make for me 9 years ago. It's for a 3-1/2 inch N-frame.

Don't know what this holster would cost today.

How about the Galco Silhouette High Ride?

Open muzzle, you can order it right for the N-Frame 3.5", but will fit 4" as well. I have one for my 624 4" and love it.

The one holster I had made by El Paso Saddlery was less than impressive. I expected far better craftsmanship from them, especially at their prices. The BLW624 holster made for the Lew Horton 3 inch 624 will work if you can find one at a reasonable price.

Thank you all for the suggestions and ideas. I like the idea of a used one already broken in but I'm not an internet/facebook person. This is about the extant of my carbon foot print so to speak. I have both a pre27 and a 27-2 both exemplary examples of craftmanship so the holster needs to follow those lines

I have a 3, 3 1/2 and 4 in. ElPaso holsters for N frame guns. The 3 and 4 in. are tooled but not dyed. The 3 1/2 in. has a dyed black back ground and it looks awful. The dye is also on the raised portions and looks like they used a cotton swab to place the dye. I thought about sending it back but decided if their QC was that bad why bother. I just kept it and marked it up to education. Larry

I looked at it the very same way. If they will ship it like that, they don't care. I may offer it up as karma. DM Bullard in Texas makes nice stuff.

I’ve been carrying a 3.5 inch N frame both on and off duty for 52 years. I now use an older El Paso Saddlery three-person holster ( black basket weave) and it is well made. I wish I had another Roy Baker pancake for the revolver (my old one wore out; was re-stitched and wore out again) because, while the three-person type holster works well, it seems far heavier on my hip than did the pancake type with its “spread out” attachment width. Couldn’t be that it’s because I’m so much older could it?
