holster for long barreled

Hi
In England to have a pistol it must have a barrel of 12" so we can't hide them in our pants.
Our Government does not think we can be trusted.
My problem is I need a holster for my small frame S&W.
I have been looking at the Safariland challenge cup holsters
no one here has one to look at ,to see if the barrel strap is removable or can be cut off.
most people here use ghost rigs.

Well, the strap is removable on mine. Just loosen off an Allen screw and the strap can be removed, or swung around to wrap around the back of the holster.

If your S&W is a K frame, the holster will give you more than enough retention (or can be bent and moulded by hand to give you the retention you desire quite easily).

I have a friend here who built himself an nickled 8 3/8 inch Model 19 round-butt (The Silver Menace) and uses it out of a Cup Challenge holster with the strap removed for NRA Action Shooting and it works just fine. Kinda like the Joker's gun in Batman, it is quite long but draws plenty fast from the cut-away open-front holster.
