Holster for the shield

Ordered Alien Gear Holsters

Well, I pulled the trigger on my order for two holsters:
Alien Gear 2 Holster Combo

Price: $70.26 + $12.45 shipping = $82.71
A great deal for two great holsters. :D

  1. Cloak Tuck 3.0 IWB for S&W M&P Shield 40 Crimson Trace Laser
  2. Cloak Slide OWB for same gun

The only downside is I have to wait 4-5 weeks for delivery of the CloakTuck 3.0. :(

#1: IWB Holster:

#2: OWB Holster:

Just an FYI, I originally was going to order both in the combo pack, they told me that they would wait until both were in and ship together. You might want to double check on that. As long as you order the 2nd one within the 30 day trial period you still get the combo discount, you'd just have to pay extra shipping but you'd get the OWB sooner.

Maybe Alien Gear is Shipping Faster than expected

Five days after I placed my order for the Alien Gear 2 Holster Combo (including the Cloak Tuck 3.0 IWB), I have received notice that my order is in production.

Hopefully this means it won't take the 4-5 weeks that they advised when the order was placed.

That's good news. I'll be interested to hear how you like it.

Galco for me.

I have been carrying my Shield in a Galco KingTuk at 4 o'clock with great success for six month in warm weather in GA. Most of the time it is against my skin with no discomfort at all. It hides under a semi-tight tee shirt with no printing. I tried the Alien Gear 3 but sent it back. It sticks out more (thicker) and was harder to put on.

Was yours comfortable from the start? My hidden hybrid came today and so far I absolutely hate it. Still trying to decide if I should return it or give it a week to see if it gets better.

Big fan of the Hidden Hybrid holsters. Many have come and gone, but these remain. Can be worn IWB or OWB, are tuckable, over the top quality & comfy. Going to buy another for the Shield I just bought my Wife.

jmichaeltx-do you have night sights on your gun? Or do you know if the people who told you how great they are had them? I asked Aliengear about whether they would fit or not and didn't get a definitive answer. I found a review for another gun that says the Trijicon does not work with the holster so I'm considering canceling the order and going with something that definitely fits. I know it can be returned but by the time you pay for shipping/return shipping, it is close to 1/2 the cost of the holster. If you find out any other info, can you post please?

I have Ameriglo night sights on my M&P Shield 9mm and carry it in the Alien Gear Cloak Tuck 3.0 and have not encountered any problems at all.

Also, just so everyone is aware, I received an email from Alien Gear today that said that they now guarantee shipment of your holster in no more than 2 days so you should receive it pretty quick.

I had a DeSantis 028 X7 IWB holster for my S&W Shield. I just do not care for IWB holsters and gave this one to my son to tote his wife's Shield in.

My son uses a Cross Breed Super Tuck for his Glock 19 and loves it.
This particular model of DeSantis holster is a great choice for bigger guns such as Glock 17 or Glock 30. I've pleased with it for that application. Its a tad bulky/overbuilt for a smaller gun such as the Shield.

Sticky Holsters, Amazon 25 bucks. This is with out a doubt the most concealable , comfortable holster you will ever own!!!!!

Saw one of these at LGS...any opinions? (DeSantis Sof Tuck)
They work just fine. My stepson and I each have one for our Shields. Another one in the house for a Ruger LC9.

They get used some however, for both he and I, our everyday carry is a Sparks Summer Special II. Expensive but worth every penny. I have carried a compact Glock in mine daily for perhaps 7 years. No loss of serviceability. His is only three years old and still looks new.

For occasional carry of a 5" 1911 my preferred is a Sparks Versa Max II.

Both styles mentioned of Sparks holsters are both comfortable for protracted wear as well as quick to draw from. Retention is also excellent.

If I carried the Shield for EDC I think I'd seriously look at the DeSantis Cozy Partner and the Milt Sparks SS II side by side. I think the SS II would win out but I don't know.

How to Use a Concealed Carry IWB Hip Holster

For those that are, like me, new to carrying a concealed weapon (CCW), I thought I'd share this video that I found helpful:

If anyone has other videos along this line, please share.

I have owned and still own Remoras for my carry pistols. Much like the sticky holsters they are indeed comfy and concealable however, where they fall a bit short frankly, is when sitting down on the toilet. As long as a person is very conscience of a loose holster, they work well.

There is your daily toilet humor. :D

I tried one of those and sent it right back. They do not fit in women's pockets.

I ended up with an IWB/OWB convertible from Well Armed Woman and I like it a lot. The kydex is formed with a curve built in and there is no extra material or bulk, just the piece of kydex. I don't think the kydex/leather combination style is for me. There was so much leather with the hidden hybrid it wrapped so far around my hip and the part that stuck up along the slide dug into my ribs.

I had Kevin Nightingale (Nightingale Leather) make his SparrowHawk:Pocket Holster for my Shield to carry in my right front pocket and I am very happy with it.
