What might you suggest for woods carry of a 4" 24-3? My adventures tend in to end up with me pushing through the puckerbrush, sliding down gullies and the like so I need something that will offer a lot of protection.

I'm close to pulling the trigger on a Milt Sparks HSR or AW200, but wondering if anyone has another suggestion.

Thanks.

I used to ride my ATV in some really rough areas, and often walked through thick brush a lot. I carried a 4" 625 Mountain Gun in a very sturdy Bianchi flap holster, on a heavy nylon web belt, with clip on suspenders for supporting the weight.

It protected my gun well for many years. It's still here somewhere, but I bet you could do a web search and find one. They're pretty durable, and the flap really protects the gun well.

I have a few 4" N frames. Most of the time I use my Kramer MSP paddle, which carries well and conceals a lot better than one might expect. I also have one for my M66 and for the HK USP 45 I no longer own. It always did well for me.

I think I have a couple of pancakes, but have grown to prefer the Kramer. I also have a duty holster for a 4" N frame (A 070 level III, if you can believe it; shows my age, doesn't it?) which I would use for most woods stuff or anyplace else I think OC was appropriate.

I have one of the 5" M25-7s and am thinking of the either another paddle or a Sparks AW 200. If I spent more time in the woods I would give serious thought to one of the quality chest rigs I have seen, after a bit more research.

Can't go wrong with a Kenai chest rig, or a similar offering from Simply Rugged.
