Simple question... i think. Without getting into the realm of zillion dollar custom rigs, or starting a range war,:p is there a decent budget priced holster that will work with both a full sized standard M&P and a 4in Model 10 for everyday carry?

One holster that fits an auto and a revolver is going to be an extremely tall order, but it has been kinda done...

My old man has a Shield, and carries it in a Blackhawk Thumbsnap leather belt holster. Just so happens his Rossi .38 snub and his S&W 638 both fit securely in that same holster - thumb break snaps and everything!

I guess you could get a leather holster that fits a FS M&P and see if the 10 will go in and stay there...

Plastic (Kydex, Polymer, etc.) is definitely out, due to the fact those holsters are usually molded to a particular pistol or family of pistols...leather is the way to go...

The better option would be to get separate holsters for each.

Desantis will not break the bank and have nice holsters to fit both models. Do not, however, buy directly from DeSantis...use their website to pick the one you want and get their part number. Then...cut and paste that part number into the search box at Buds Gun Shop or Cheaper Than Dirt and you can get them for way less than ordering from DeSantis.

I just had Lobo make a Model 1 pancake for my 6" model 28 and I LOVE it! To be honest, though, for what you would spend on one Lobo you can buy two DeSantis holsters...and if you call him looking for one holster to fit both an auto and a wheelgun he will probably be like..."what?"

Here's the deal: no simple or cheap answer. A major part of carrying a firearm every day is that your choice of holster will make or break your comfort. A quality holster, made for that firearm, will keep carrying it from becoming a painful chore. If concealment is necessary, a quality rig is a good idea too. Other than that, if you narrow down your choice, it's likely someone here has experience with it and may be able to help you further.

I guess I didn't realize you wanted one holster for both handguns. Trust me, you don't. Get a good holster made specifically for each handgun. It will cost more, but will be worth it.

Don't know what your budget is, but patience & watching the classifieds on this site will show options for both guns. You could probably find used rigs for both for under $50 total...That's not much considering the investment you made in the pistols...

Zero9holsaters.com they can make a kydex holster for anything. several coworkers of mine and i have multiple holsters from these guys. both inside and outside the waistband and even a few knife sheaths. great work, great prices, great turn around time.

Wright Leather Works. I have 2 of their pancake holsters and they are AWESOME!

More or less what I suspected... No problem getting a rig for either. As stated there's plenty of gear for both out there. Was just hoping for a easy fix. Did run into a vendor at last years Modern Day Marine who had a holster that between the use of elastic and Velcro supposedly could be adjusted to fit any auto with or without lights or optics that was not to bulky overall. May have to look him up again is year.

I second Lobo leather, received an enhanced pancake for my M&P 9 a couple of weeks ago. The quality is unbelievable for the price.

I will just throw this out there. I bought the Alien Gear Cloak Tuck 2.0 Inside the Waistband Hybrid holster and just received it today and I am pretty happy with it. There is no leather but it feels pretty robust and the neoprene backing is very soft and comfortable on the body.

I got mine for my shield and I also got an interchangeable shell so that I could fit my full size 1911 on it too. Just undo 4 allen head screws, take off the shield shell and put the 1911 shell on there and I'm set to go.

I just checked their website and they make shells for J and K frame revolvers as well. The problem is the K frame one says its for a 2 inch, I wonder if you could cut the end open to let your 4 inch barrel poke through. I dunno how well it would work, you might want to give them a call and ask if they recommend that.

if you actually like that solution, i would say it's very affordable. I only paid $40 bucks for the holster + shield, then i ordered the extra 1911 shell and some extra clips also and the total was still less than 70 bucks with shipping included. To me that seems pretty cheap.

Found a good deal on a used Raven Concealment for my full size, only Kydex holster I like or own. For me if I carry iwb I just can't get a kydex to work, constantly digs into my side (I carry at the "3 o'clock" postion). Outside the waistband, this is a great holster. Everything else for my other handguns is leather.

Kydex is an option check out deadeyeluke.com his turn around is less than 2 weeks and has holsters with lots of options Tuckable, appendix carry, small of the back, left/right hand etc

He hand molds each holster to the weapon and they are comfortable at least for me when I carry my full size 9 at 8 o'clock (I'm left handed). Also it 1 hand holstering
