I carry different N frames and am looking at El Paso Saddlery holsters. I use a thumb break belt slide now but it's cheap and needs replaced. Since my carry guns are 25-5's and 28-2's, I would most likely have a problem with the strap fitting the different hammers. Since I'm cheap, I'd like to get one holster that will work for both. Can anyone tell me how good the retention is on the "Street Combat"?

The difference between the target hammer and the standard hammer on the N-frames is, on the one hand, significant; however on the other hand it is not enough to cause retention problems with the shorter hammer.

So long as I know in advance that the holster's retention must fit the target hammer, I can make a holster that will work well with either.

I ordered a EPS tortilla for my M25-5 with the target hammer. I specified on the order that the gun has the target hammer. When I got the order (much quicker than promised) the strap did not fit. Not even close. I sent it back. they stretched it, and it barely fit. Now, almost a year later, it still is very difficult to use. Granted, it is an occasional use holster, about once a month or so. It does not have a oportunity to stretch out like a holster in daily use would have. I need the gun so I can't just let it sit in the holster for a week. I am not happy with it. If my work did not require that I have a retension strap, I would use a Simply Rugged Sourdough Pancake.
