I rec a DeSantis as a banquet prize - seems to work well & meet the requirements of IDPA, we use it with a 625 ESR & 629 SSR
I am sure there are lower riding holsters that be a tad quicker on the draw, just have not found one thats IDPA legal "YET"

Maybe another member can give us both a better option.

Mine is in a Kramer OWB. It is IDPA legal and works well. You might also look into some of our fellow members in the vendor section. They have great products at a decent prices and nice folks to boot!

It's not cheap, but all the revolver shooters I asked the same question last year told me to get a Ready Tactical holster Ready Tactical (they're near the end of the page).

Great holster.

:) Thanks gents, the ready tactical mentioned looks like it be faster on the draw and not badly priced

For IDPA I think the entire trigger guard has to be covered so trimming the holster in that area would make it illegal for that game. I have Ready Tactical holsters for K and N Frames and the part of the holster that covers the trigger guard doesn't get in the way at all.

I just ordered a ready tactical holster for my n frame probably get one for the l frame also

From rule book, pg 32:

2. Criteria of an IDPA Approved Holster

C. Must fully cover the trigger of the firearm

I used this when 5" bbls were legal. Of course I didn't have the DOH unit on it.

You know that holster is a long way from fully covering the trigger of the firearm.

It also puts the rear of the cylinder below the halfway point of the belt. Either one of those reasons will DQ that holster today.
