A friend was having a Birthday and we were invited to go out and join then plus the two daughter in-laws, to a new place that was said to have some great food and service.

I was told that it was a Brazilian steak houst and I siad great, since I have heard of them and wanted to give it a try to see if the meat was as good as peple let on.

On entry I liked what was the first thing that you noticed, it was a large display of around 400 bottles of wine with a few "Magnums" on the bottom of the display.

Our party of six started off with the salad bar where there was five types of sliced cheese, and a huge slab of Blue cheese with large chunks if needed, plus salami, 3 types of olives, 7 types of salads, salmon, fruits and pinapple.

The main course had 4 types of steak, 3 types of chicken, 2 types of pork and my favorite, leg of Lamb and lamb chops, to choose from.

I had a glass of white & red wine to help push down all the food and did not have enough room for the Cheese cake or other 6 offerings.

A very enjoyable night out with the family for this little party and we all had a favorite meat from all of the offerings, that we discused and graded, just for the fun of it.

I gave it a thumbs up but don't forget your wallet.

The total for six adults came to $492.

My wife and I went to a local Brazilian steakhouse and it was an all you can eat restaurant with the beef, chicken, lamb entries, large salad bar, etc. It was a really great place with excellent food. The bill for the two of us was about $150 which I didn't think unreasonable for what you received.

I've been to a Brazilian steakhouse once. Everyone enjoyed and even though it was a expensive we thought it was a good VALUE.
Glad that everyone in your group enjoyed..

Sounds like Fogo De Chao to me? Been there many times, great food.
Our biggest night was the night I had a $200 bar tab for 3 McCallan scotches, they were very yummy. Glad Coca-Cola was paying the tab. lol

"Rodizios" they are called in Brazil, it means rotating, 'cause the waiters go around table to table with large skewers full of the different cuts of meat. If you see something you want to try they will cut off a slice or two for your plate. One thing I had in Brazil but haven't seen here is called Cupim it is meat from the hump of a Brahma Bull, tender and very well marbled, tender and good!
I was told they originated along the highways where truckers could stop in for a good, quick meal. Used to be inexpensive!

There is another chain out there that is similar called Rodizio Grill. Just turn the little wooden thing to green and keep going ! I don't recall it being that pricey, but it has been a long time since I was there.

I agree with others about the experience being worth it. As I age, I realize how the memories are priceless.

Both of my sons are well grown. So now for their birthdays I take them out for a nice meal. Their choice, anywhere they want. About 4-5 years ago the oldest's birthday rolled around. There was this upscale steak house he drove by daily going to and from work. He was always curious about it and decided he wanted to go there.
It was a very good meal, but honestly nothing spectacular about it. Dinner for two came out to $225.

Thanks guys for reminding me why I never eat out. I make all my meals at home and probably average $15-$20 on supper for two. I could eat for a week on what one meal cost at most of those places.
