I was going to wait and contact one of the CEO's at S&W, but coming up for my 4th Deployment overseas, maybe this will gain traction here.

As you all know the .38 Special was King in American Law Enforcement for probably 50 years. I remember in the 1980's and early 90's, .38 Special was the most inexpensive ammo out there, with the exception of .22 rimfire.

The most popular cartridge now is the 9mm.

How about more revolvers in 9mm?

Lets have a Model 15 and a Model 10 in 9mm, with moon clips as well. What do you think guys? I'd buy several!

I agree. I've said it before and I'll say it again, if they offered an M&P 340 no-lock chambered in 9mm I'd buy one in a heartbeat (probably wouldn't be called a 340 anymore, but you get the idea.)

The 940 name would still work for me....same configuration as the original. Bring it back. Heck I'd buy a snubby K frame chambered in 9 too.

This may become a reality. I'd bet S&W marketing is watching the sales of the Rugers closely. I'm sure they want their piece of the pie.

Stay safe over there. :)

Ruger has had dual cylinders for Blackhawk.357's that had 9mm, I think I've seen gunsmith cylinder conversions for 64 -and 65 Smiths to make 9mm revolvers. I think they would be a big success
