Just returned from a trip to the range with my two SWV9E's,
and thought I would post on my results with Hornaday's critical defense ftx rounds. After putting 100 blazer rounds through each gun, I loaded up some of the Hornaday rounds a friend suggested I try.
First gun would fire 4 or 5 rounds then the next one would not feed properly, hanging up half out of the mag. Switched to second gun, same thing. Switched back to the blazer ammo, and even some cheap Monarch brass, no probs.
Anyone else have this issue with Hornaday? These rounds seem noticably smaller than the Blazer or Monarch's when
you look at them together.

I have used the Hornaday CD rounds in my 9VE and the Monarch rounds without any problems at all. I used to use them as my carry rounds. Never had failures of any kind in either of my Sigmas, but I have heard of others that have had problems with the rounds hanging up on the rubber insert as it enters the chamber, but that was on a Glock 22. As for the size, they are the same grain weight at 115, but yes the Hornaday does look smaller, but I think that it is because of the FTX design and shape. Both the Monarch FMJ and the CD are both 115 grain weights. As of late, I have switched over to the Winchester PDX1 rounds for my personal defence rounds and use them in my 40VE that I carry everyday and the 9VE that my wife now carries. To me, they are a little bit more accurite, but it could be me. I say give them a try and see if you like them.
