Hornady Pro-Jector Progressive Press Parts

So, I was setting up my reloading press and the bolt on the picture lost its threads. I called Hornady , they do not have it in stock. The press is 30 years old. They offered me a new press if I return mine along with a check for $250, plus an additional $10 per shell plate. That's not a deal for me. My press works like a charm, all I need is that bolt that holds the primer arm and spring. Does anyone have one that its willing to sell or know a source for one?

I think you should consider their offer and get the LNL.

Your press is 30 years old and almost no parts available should something else break.

Compare the better features you get with a new press a warranty and parts.

Look for a local machine shop and have one made. Hornady won't give the specs on the threads (They don't give much in the way of support!) so take the group of parts with you to be measured. Don't be in a hurry and these guys usually will take good care of you.

Can't see it very good. Is there a shoulder on the bolt or whats so special about it? Are the threads in the bracket pulled as well? They can easily be replaced with a helicoil and a bolt either replaced or made.
Far cheaper than replacing it.

Umm, can you tap it for a larger bolt?
This is my only complaint about companies other than Dillon--not maintaining support for presses after discontinuing the model--they seem to IMMEDIATELY lose all spare parts. After 30 years, a new press might be an option, but NOT for a bolt?

Hairtrigger: I had one for a couple of decades and only had to replace a pawl once--and it was my fault for being frustrated and forcing things.
I was totally happy with the primer feed system. You can LOOK at it and SEE the primer moving over to be seated and I had fewer priming problems in probably 25 years than I have with my 1050s in the first year I had them.

Send me a pm and I will send screw. It will have plier marks on it as I did not use screwdriver to tighten it

PM sent, Thanks for all you suggestions. The screw has 2 different size shoulders, the threads are stripped on the screw only. The offer for a new press for $250 is a decent one but I cant see spending that kind of money for having 1 bad screw.The press has been very reliable and it is solidly built. I had purchased some spare parts some 15 years ago just to keep them hand in case of a breakage in the middle of a reloading session, that screw was not one of them. Again I appreciate all your ideas and suggestions. Thanks
