Can anyone recomend a place to have a S&W Model 10-11 HB hot blued in north east Ohio or western PA? I tried doing a cold blue touch up for now, but the gun really needs to have some light scratches and nicks buffed out and then a completed hot blue job to look good. I will be using this gun for IDPA, but I still want it to look nice with my hand gun collection (that pride in ownership thing I guess).

I have found one service in Erie, PA for $100 with an average turn around time of 30 days. The price is right, and I can live with that time frame, but I am still looking for a few additional options as well. I would rather not ship the gun due to the UPS 2nd day costs involved, and the additional delay. Thanks.

Just curious if that was Martin Zuck by any chance?? In Erie I am refering to.

I'm kind of wondering how many boards and in how many Forums this question is going to appear anyway?

No, it was Metalife near Erie, and I have posted this question on 5 forums. I am casting a wide net for recomendations. With the EPA regulating out of business, or shutting down, small refinishing operations it's getting hard to find anyone locally that provides this service.

I did post this question first in the '80 plus revo section but decided later this was a better place. If you are a mod then feel free to remove that post.

where abouts in NE Ohio may you be looking for or into?? Metalife does good work we've worked with Ron over the years and they do just fine, BUT as you noted shipping and going across state lines has its drawbacks versus dropping and picking up in person.......I know of a guy over in Eastlake, Crown Firearms, and Walts does excellent work, you can try and get a hold of them........

Good luck

Walt does nice work. Last price was 125.00 for a re-blue. Watch the lounge after March 1st, there is a S&W group in you're area. Its our 6th meeting coming in April. Fun time, spread the word. Larry

I talked to Walt and he seems like a nice guy. He quoted me (sight unseen) $150 and 5 to 6 weeks to buff out and blue the gun. While I'm sure he is very good I just can't sink $150 (plus tax and travel exp) into a gun I only paid $260 for with shipping and tax. Looks like it will end up going to Metalife for rebluing. Just can't beat his deal at $100 and 30 days. Thanks for the leads.
