Anyone here shoot "Hot Shot" ammo? I've shot a few boxes, and have about 6 more in the safe. I was really liking it, and I was under the impression that it was really decent ammo, for the price...with nice thick looking brass. The stuff I've shot is 124 grain 9mm. Inside of a week I spoke with two different people, and they both hate the stuff. It seems both of these guys have had squibs...several in each box with the stuff. Luckily they felt it right away and didn't chamber another round! I was out at my range last night cleaning up and painting steel plates, and found not one but two perfect looking 9mm bullets laying on the ground, about half way to my 50 yard gong. They had that extra shiny colored jacket that Hot Shot has. Just laying there on the ground. It appears they left the barrel of my gun and only had enough power to propel themselves about 25 yards. I don't recall ever feeling anything strange in recoil or report but there they were. So, Ive gone from really liking the stuff to not wanting to trust it now. At least my two existed the barrel, and there's no real way to tell if I had any more weak ones. I'm going to carefully shoot the rest of the stuff and I guess not buy any more. Has anyone else had similar experiences? Maybe they just released a bad lot of it or is that stuff just junk?

Pick a ammo manufacturer, any ammo manufacturer and you'll find a dozen guys who hate it. Doesn't matter what it is. If it works for you ....keep using it. Hot Shot is not a manufacturer, it is a name owned by Century Arms which is an importer of firearms and ammo. They buy ammo from other countries and package it under their Hot Shot brand. It can be from Slovak republic, Romania, Serbia, Italy. ...

I've used the stuff in 7.62x38r Nagant, it's loaded very light, but shoots decently.
