I have in my possession a scrap book dating between 1854 and 1921. It consists of newspaper clippings of poems, paired with hand-written death notices of folks serving in the Civil War along with, I assume, relatives or friends. I've identified Westfield, NY. and Cedarville, NY. from reading through the clippings. Most of the newspaper clippings are not dated, but a date of death is included with the handwritten notice. There are several inscriptions from different folks, making the actual originator hard to identify, At least by me.
My question is, would you know of anyone from the aforementioned areas that studies the time period of the Civil War and might need access to the information contained in this book.
I'm not looking to sell it, but I would provide the info or possibly donate it. I contacted the NY history museum, but they did not return my inquiry. Anyone out there have any ideas?
