How did I miss these little knives

Here’s my Grandfather’s Knife.
He carried it for many years and used it for many things.

The half congress is one of my favorite patterns and the Boker ones made in Germany are nice solid knives. I usually carry a small “gentleman’s” pocket knife and a larger locking folder.

I'm a two knife guy, a Robbie Dalton Auto and an Al Mar Falcon. The Dalton is strictly for emergencies and my old Al Mar is for using on mundane stuff.

If I have my pants on they are both with me.

I've got more knives than I know what to do with. I carry a small SAK on my keyring every day. It gets used a lot for little light jobs, especially the scissors, which surprised me when I first got it. I had no idea how handy they would be. Then another SAK, just bigger, rides in my front pocket. Same basic knife, only bigger, with a couple of screwdriver blades.

In my watch pocket there is a cheap, self opening single blade folder, about 3? 3 1/4" long. It fits right in the watch pocket, if I put it in just right. It's a cheap, Chinese one, with an aluminum handle, and a spring action. Flips right open with just a little thumb pressure. Locks closed with a switch on the spine. Takes and holds a good edge. It had a belt clip but I took that off to make it thinner. I got it just for grins and giggles somewhere and tried to hate it, but the darn thing grew on me and now it's with me all the time. I think the "brand" is Roko"? Or something like that. A really handy knife.

A couple of Bucks, and a custom Shelor fixed blade knife stay in the desk drawer. I've had the Shelor for about 50 years or so. The Bucks not so long. I used to use them for hunting, but I don't do that anymore, so they get touched up and polished and waxed from time to time.

There are a few other SAK's around in various and sundray places.

My wife gathered up my small knifes and placed them in a 4x6x2" box in my gun safe , Those all are knifes from my young years . . She even has a couple small one and 2 blade knifes of her own but I have not carried any smll knife in at least 55+ years . Carried a large 2 blade case 6265 with a braided rawhide loop thru high school then a straightblade or two for years till we moved to NC mountains where straight blade knife can not be concealed . Tried a couple common easy open carry brand knifes but over 10 years for daily carry but in 2009 I bought a ZT0350 that I have carried since . Heavy , yes but not like I notice . The ZT's has been a very good knife for me .

If any have celluloid handle scales I would not keep them in a gun safe. It's not a matter of if but when Celluloid starts self destructing and when it does the outgasses are very corrosive and any ferrous metals in the vicinity will rust and pit - badly.
