How do you load your speed strips?

For example, when I'm carrying a J frame, I generally do the "2+2" thing, two rounds on each of the ends of the strip, leaving the middle two spaces open. This allows you to use the open spaces for your fingers and accomplish an extremely quick reload (downside is you only have 4 rounds on the strip).

How do you do it? Do you load all 6 rounds?

I only occasionally carry a speed strip (usually a safariland comp1) for my j frame. When I do, I load the first 5. It's easier for me to load that way. If I do 2+empty+2, then the last 2 are harder for me to load. If I'm in a hurry, I will just load the first 4 out of the 5 in the strip.

2-space-3..

I use 8 round quick strips from Tuff Products and load them 2-2-1. For a six round gun I can use the same strip loaded 2-2-2. The same speed strip will accomodate my 7 shot 686+

I always load all six. If I ever have to shoot it is most likely going to be just one or two rounds, if statistics are to be believed. In that event I would just need to top off the revolver. I may not need the whole cylinder re-charged, in that event the sixth round won't get in my way, and in the highly unlikely event the encounter continues it may need to be "tactically" reloaded more than once. Might as well have as much ammo as possible.
Also, I use the speed strips for my K-frames too, so I just load them up and grab them when I put on whatever gun I'm carrying.

5, last hole empty. It makes it easier to load, and the odds of needing 1.2 reloads of my J frame are so small its a good trade off.
