I see there is a Tanner Gun show in downtown Denver today. Any Denver area guys ever go, as I understand they are regular events. Just curious if it is worth checking out.

I've done the Tanner Show several times in Denver and since I am in southern CO I do the Pueblo show when they come down here. IMHO it is probably the best show left, considering most gun shows now days. The show in Pueblo is the best in the area. The Denver show has a lot of dealers, mostly gun related, there are a few jerky and junk jewelry but not much. Prices are too high, but deals can be found. The parking at the Denver show is free but crowded, small car works best, it is difficult to manouver my PU in their lot. If the weather is good, it is worth the trip. Keep shootin'

I have never been to the show.. A goal for some day.

I know several that make the pilgrimage from Wyoming every year.

We go at least every couple of months. Was there yesterday and found some gun prices are dropping. LCR that I bought 2 months ago at $449.00, which I found to be best price at time, is now $425.00 at Tanner. I bought some primers and .38 ammo which was at good price. It's certainly worth the trip.

Haven't been yet, but as soon as my days off line up with one of their shows, I'll be up there.

I've been there a couple times when I'm in Denver, a pretty good show. About 700 tables, and mostly all gun related, but some non-related. One of the better shows, and large enough you can find a few goodies. I did find a decent No.1, 2nd Issue there about a year ago.

The good deals are gone by Friday night (set up day) which the general public can't into (but "passes" seem to be abundant). Saturday and Sunday the entrance gets crowded to cherry- pick the walk-in traffic. Of course Sunday afternoons are wheeler-dealer time, and a lot of tables leave early then as well.

Good shooting.

Stopped going a couple of years ago, a good friend of mine w/a ffl would always set up & I'd help out. As Homie stated the good deals are usually gone Friday before it's open to the public.

Every now & then you can find someone walking around with some thing interesting but most of the tables don't have any real deals on them.

However if you like beef jerky then it rocks! LOL.

Sir, there's a Tanner Show in Denver most months (schedule here), and I usually go with a buddy or two. I regard it more as entertainment than a shopping trip.

As others have correctly noted, there aren't many deals to be had; prices usually range from somewhat high to plumb silly. On the upside, sometimes you can find things there that you can't get elsewhere in town. Also, their coffee could make a passable substitute for Hoppe's No. 9. :D

Hope this helps, and Semper Fi.

Been going there on and off for going on 18 years. Good for "today" and there are currently a couple of dealers with decent street prices on a good stock of new guns.

Tanner show is not in downtown Denver, btw. More convenient than that. A half block off I-25 at 58th Ave just north of I-70.

Not usually a lot of classic S&W stuff, but I did pick up a nice long tube 27-2 at the May show for a reasonable deal. It is good for looking at new guns.

Ended up going to the show and enjoying it, as it is pretty darn big. Haven'y been to many gun shows as I lived in a small town in SoCal up until recently. Looked at quite a few Smiths, and yes prices were kinda high. Didn't buy anything, but didn't find the 60 3" anywhere there, which is what I wanted. Saw a nickel plated .44 magnum for $1,495 - which was a nice gun but out of my league.

Tons of rifles and shotguns, and lots of holsters, ammo, knives, etc. Pretty good selection. Attendance was good and yes, parking is tight.

All in all, I will definitely go back in a few months and try again.
