I occasionally visit a few, but belong to only two. This one and the Ruger site. This one has better gun information, the Ruger site has better political discussions.
As far as gun forums, just this one and one other. I'm also on a leatherworker and an ALS/MMN forum. I stopped going to the leatherworker forum when a lot of them ganged up and gave a newbie a bad time on his first holster. The ALS/MMN forum has a lot of good advice on supplements and exercises that help.
The Ruger forum, 1911 forum, Nagant revolver forum, Swiss weapons forum, Handloading forum, another S&W forum, C n R collectors forum, antique reloading tool collectors forum just to name a few!
This is it. I was on three or four others and found incivility, Wally World Commandos, self-ordained Zen masters, political rants and off-the-wall conspiracy theorists. Other than that they were pretty cool.
I've stayed here because I find expertise, experience, compassion for those who are suffering, civil discourse (for the most part), and a lot of wonderfully strange humor. Even banana nut bread recipes and hymns to broccoli.

This one and Hunting and Shooting on About.com...this forum is terrific. I've learned quite a bit here about Smith and Wesson firearms....I have also seen a few guns that I was then compelled to go out and find for my collection...
Over the years I have joined many different gun forums. It generally changes as my tastes change. When my interests change, I usually move on to a forum that suits the flavor of the minute. I suppose I have forgotten most of my screen names and log in information.
This is the only forum I have stuck with. I like the way this one is moderated. Clean language and focused discussions make this board a treat. I get tired of forums where everyone "runs wild".
I certainly thank those that make this board possible and appreciate all their efforts.
