We are talking at the range now. When you go to your favorite shooting area, how many rounds do you send down range with your favorite gun?

Mine varies from 30-100. Seldom do more than 100 and 30 is about as few as I want to shoot when checking out the sights on a gun.

Add to the mix, as I sit home during the week with nothing else to do, I will load up mags for the range bag. Toss a dozen loaded mags in the bag and I can spend more time shooting at the range and less time loading. The range I visit charges by the hour so I keep the time there short.

I generally shoot a box of 50 of whatever caliber I brought.

At the weekly cowboy action practice, we shoot 100 rounds split between the two handguns and one rifle, and 20 rounds out of the 12 gauge.

I'm lucky to be able to have a range on my property. I will shoot as few as 10 to 20 rounds at times, but mostly it's 100 plus.

It really depends on what I'm shooting that day.

.38 and .22 handguns and my .22 rifles I like to shoot 100-200 rounds per visit.

My Winchester M70 .30-06 sometimes will get as many as 30 rounds down range before my shoulder tells me I'm done.

If I get 25 shots off with my muzzle loader that's a long day at the range.

My routine lately has been three range visits a week, take two .22 rifles and a .22 pistol. 60 rounds through each .22 rifle practicing the shooting positions, finish up with 50 rounds of .22 pistol. 170 rounds per visit, 510 rounds per week, 2040 rounds per month...

Plus throw in the occasional test of a new cast lead handload through one of my centerfire rifles, and my monthly ammo and reloading component bill is around $120, cheaper than golf, bowling, drinking at a bar or chasing women!

I usually go every two weeks - take 3 to 4 guns of various calibers. I typically start with a rimfire (usually a MKIII hunter) at around 50-100 rnds. Then maybe 10-15 32's, a box of 9mm (Glock 19) and finally some 38's and/or 357's through 1 or 2 Smiths. I'll finish with some 22's again. All together it's probably close to 200 rnds. I should be more patient.

Whatever I shoot, I buy 2.

I shoot .22s most every Friday at my indoor pistol range. 100-250 depending on how much bull we shoot first. Sometimes we forget about shooting. Two or three times a month (sometimes a lot more in the winter) I'll shoot 100+ of my reloads in 45ACP or .38.

I shoot rifles every Monday and sometimes Thursday (less in the winter). It's not unusual to go thru a box of 500 .22s and 100 .223 per visit.

In the old days when ammo was realistically priced I shot 200-250 centerfire rounds a week, Now? 100 centerfire, 100 rimfire. At the rate ammo is going I will soon be throwing rocks.

I go to the local range roughly once a week. Typically take 3-5 handguns. On occasion a few more.

Will shoot a minimum of 50 rounds through each and 100 to 200 with some favorite models. Most often that will be with my K38 and/or 625-3.

Depends on which range I'm going to and which guns I am using. Since I shoot Trap leagues, skeet leagues, and bullseye leagues, that usually dictates which guns and how much I shoot. Trap usually 2 rounds of 25, Skeet, usually 2-3 rounds of 25, Bullseye, 50-100 rounds of .22 RF. Otherwise, if I am playing with a long range rifle maybe 15-30 rounds, or just plinking 50-100 rounds.

I've had days where I shot 10-15 rounds then sat around "shooting the bull" with friends and a few times where I fired no rounds at all.

Usually 15 rounds with the revolver: ball & dummy, on paper and on the timer. That's right around 30 hammer falls, either .22 LR or .38 Spl. Takes about 10-15 minutes of concentration.

18 rds with the carbine in similar fashion.

I have (almost enough!) ammo so that isn't the issue. But IMHO it's about practicing the right stuff in the right way frequently, not how much brass you put on the ground.

And that scratches my itch well enough.

Generally, when I get to the range, I'll warm up by putting 100 rounds thru my 617 in about a 60/40 split between DA and SA shooting.

Then I put 1 to 2 boxes of 40 S&W through my 610 in a similar split between DA and SA shooting. To be honest I should put in more practice time with the 610 because I've found that the 6 1/2 inch barrel on mine makes it pretty sensitive to recoil management.

Then I'll finish up by running 50 rounds through my Sig P239-40 starting each magazine with the hammer down. I also need to spend more time with this one. Both the 617 and 610 are equipped with reflex sights and I've found that my ability to shoot with iron sights has degraded a bit.

300 to 500 rounds per gun is my normal load when I head the the range. I go about twice a month and normally take 2 to 3 different guns. My goal is to shoot around 20,000 rnds per year so I can get it done. That is pistol of course. Rifle I take 200 rounds and normally 2 to 3 rifles.

I hit the range every couple or three weeks. 100-150 centerfire, mostly .38 and some .45, and 100-200 .22s - depends on how tired I get of loading Ruger mags. :)

Really need to work on getting a K22...

been shooting just handguns for the past year or so. take 6-10 guns with me and usually around 100rds. per gun. if shooting autos, might be a little more. try to go at least once per week, but lately have had to deal with storms about everyday.

Centerfire Revolver range trips anywhere from 50 to 200.
Centerfire rifle- 20 to 50.
Rimfire rifle- 50 to 200.

I'll usually go through about 30-60 rounds from black powder rifles if that is what I take.

Cap & ball revolver: 200+ rounds (because I'm of the mindset that if I have to clean it that well, I better use the heck out of it!) ;)

I never shoot more than two black powder firearms at one range setting...takes too long to detail them again to look unfired. Cleaning is easy though. :)
