How often do you clean your firing pin?

I remove the pin once a year and clean the striker channel and the pin once a year or so. Every time I do a major tear down and clean.

Perhaps every 10,000 rounds with a Colt 1911.

Every major cleaning. Every time it gets wet. Every time it lives outside overnight on a camping or hunting trip. It's too easy not to. Pipe cleaner and an oil rag.

After letting it get junked up once and causing light primer strikes, I started popping it out almost every cleaning and I run a swab through the striker assembly housing and then a gentle wipe down of the striker assembly. I never knew it was so easy on the M&Ps, now it only adds about a minute or two to my cleaning.
I did it once before I ever used it just in case anything was left from the manufacturing process. I found just a spec of debris. Did it again a second time after over 800 rounds. Not sure it really needed the second cleaning. I will however inspect periodically for any buildup.

I'm approaching 18K rounds on my CORE 9 and have never had the striker pin out. (I do have a spare assembly in my range bag, just in case
)

Does the striker assembly need to be replaced at regular intervals or just if it starts causing issues? I assume if it does, those intervals would be pretty high.

Mine is my carry pistol so it get cleaned after every range day

as maintenance it would depend on the type of gun and amount it's shot. Initially before the first shooting. new or used during the first pre-shoot inspection. If something is wrong from the factory or from a previous owner I'd like to know about it BEFORE I shoot it. I've never had one so dirty it stopped working, even after going for a dip in a black mud stanky drainage canal. Just amazing the places that mud found it's way into & for how long you could find specks of it even after multiple cleanings, and I'm not talking about just the gun.

I tend to clean every piece I can get to after every range day. If something isn't clean it sticks in my mind similar to 'it's march 15 and my taxes aren't done yet' so once I clean it my mind is at ease.
Another note is Sig Sauer says every 5,000 rounds, have a gunsmith take it all the way down and clean, polish, and replace the springs. If there isn't a gunsmith nearby just send it to Sig, they'll do it. I like that theory, and I think all the companies should have a program like that.

I cleaned my striker after 2k rd.s on my f/s 9mm. When I did there was VERY little dirt in there. Since I did it to my f/s, I also cleaned my 9c striker even though it had less rd.s through it, & it was clean. I never used any cleaners or solvents in this area. You don't want any gunk to build up in there. I just used a dry q-tip

Really? You take the striker assembly out after every trip to the range? While I applaud your diligence, I do think it's excessive and not necessary.
I'm not sure this is a good idea. The striker channel needs no lubrication of any kind. Putting any liquid/grease/oil/lube in there only attracts dirt and grime. You may be actually doing more harm than good with this.
