My youngest is starting college today. That is bad enough, but I heard at work that students entering college this fall think e-mail is too slow and phones have never had cords or dials. Also many incoming freshmen don't know how to write in cursive or have ever worn a wristwatch.

I am 57, young to others here, but I can remember when "contrails" in the sky were rare, since few commercial jet planes were flying then, or that high.

My last daughter, also starting college tomorrow, used to ask my why my movies were "gray". I was watching old B&W westerns and war movies.

That article was in today's paper here in Wyoming. I drove through the campus last spring and I don't understand is how those 3rd graders are being allowed into college these days.

Don't think they was that young when I was there.

I feel older than dirt in the morning,
I feel rode hard and put away wet in the evening,
I'll have a beer or six and feel like a young man till the morning.

Hmmm, I turned 48 in June, my oldest is on his second deployment to A-stan and his sister starts college in the fall.

My wife (the 2nd, better wife:D) just turned 36 last weekend, her boys are 8 & 10. As long as I take my meds and get a good night's sleep, I can keep up (with everyone;)) pretty well.

How's that song go... I'm not as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I ever was?? Yeah, that's me.

WC145, we have some things in common: My oldest just left on his first deployment to Astan (Marines) this morning, his sister is starting college today, and my wife looks like she is 36.

Depends on the weather. During the summer I have pretty good days. When winter finally arrives down this way, I pretty much hurt all over. I did not take real good care of the battle chassis over the years.

Hmmm, the kids are gone and you've got the house and a young wife all to yourself.... This is what you've waited all these years for!!! Enjoy!:D

Good on your boy for becoming a Marine, you should be proud.
We'll keep him in our prayers.:)

I'll be 63 one month from today and I feel better than when I was 45, for sure. We all have worries and challenges to deal with, but the bottom line is, when you're alone, do you like the company you're keeping? There are some things I'd do differently, of course, but I've got no regrets. Peace of mind is the key.

Well, I'm 44 going on 70 (football). I've got 4 teenagers, 14,15,16 & 17- 3 boys and a girl. We hit the 127 yard sale down here last week and they all laughed at me when I pointed out a box of 8 track tapes and told them that's what my first car had in it. Three of the four of them had never seen one. But as luck would have it, I too have the 43 wife that looks like she hasn't seen 35 yet. Life is good:D

Well, I was 69 last april. I am fat and out of shape. But then again, I have always been fat and out of shape! So I am used to it. My wife is almost 17 years younger than me, she takes good care of me, I cant do better than that!

i was born a few days after ww2 ended............but i had a great practice session with my S&W revolvers at the range today and i feel like i'm 23.

Im only 56 but sometime's these day's I do feel like a stranger in a strange land! Gad's how thing's have changed, now I think back on my Dad's life going from bi plane's to the moon and all the techno thingie's!

I feel like a Corvette with a million miles on it

When I was in my 20's I wanted to do everything,When I was in my 30's I wanted to buy and own everything,Now in my late 40's all I want to do is get through the day. A couple of years ago I took a nasty spill down the stairs that looked like something out of a James Bond movie. I broke both feet. I crawled down the rest of the stairs on my belly and just laid there as I felt my feet swell up black and blue. The wife asked if I wanted a ambulance,I said no because they stick you with a 1400 dollar bill, the insurance pays 600 and you get the rest. I maned up and walked 20 feet to the garage and she drove me to the hospital where I was double casted. Out of action for 6 months and the feet have never been the same since.49 is not that old but I remember a phone call from a booth cost 10 cents,Our house phone had a rotery dial on it,Bus ride was 10 cents,Thrifty Icecream cost 5cents a single 10 for a double and yes 15 cents for a triple.Disney land used tickets for the rides and a E ticket was the best ticket for all the good rides. An A ticket ,you got ride the trolley.

I'm 57, just finished a 11 months on a small firebase in NE Afghanistan. I can work 16-18 hours a day and still hold my own with an M4 alongside the youngun's when the Taliban come callin'.

I was born before Pearl Harbor, before TV, before penicillin, you rung up central and told her who you wished to speak to, the streets were dirt and a water wagon pulled by 4 mules watered them down in the summer, my dad drove a Hudson, a coke was 5 cents, movie was 10 cents and popcorn was 5 cents. How in the h''l old do you think I feel?
