Just call me the searcher. Many years ago I saw a Lawrence
Special Agent ad in an old gun magazine and was obsessed with
finding one. I looked high and low for months. One finally
popped up on ebay. It has smooth calfhide lining and the exterior
is pigskin. The back shows it is a model 34JV which is their FBI
model extra-quick-draw, and this one also has the dog ear to
protect the jacket lining of the wearer. The J is for the hammer
guard (aka dog ear) and the V is for pigskin exterior.
Unfortunately the model number 645 is made for Colt's Python
with a 2.5" barrel. I don't have one of those, and had no interest
in buying one. The back in shown below on the left.
I skived a little piece of leather and used industrial strength
double stick tape to stick it on the welt just in front of the trigger
guard. Shown in photo 2nd from left.
Made it fit my Model 10 S&W with 2" barrel, as shown
3rd from left.
