How to open a wine bottle with a shoe

Oh my.... I've been doing it wrong all these years. Supposed to be opening the bottle of wine with the shoe.... not trying to use the bottle of wine as a shoe horn to put on the shoe !!!

If my sommelier ever does that, I'm sending the bottle back!

You can avoid all this nonsense by just buying in cartons. All of the big brands, like Thunderbird and Night Train, are available in the box. Why I heard just the other day that they might even be bringing back Ripple in the carton.

Hope that helps.;)

Didn't know this only applied to bottles and just crushed a box of Boone's Farm. :p

On the other hand, I can see my butt getting beaten by Mom when I pound my shoe/wine bottle on the wall at Thanksgiving dinner.

Seriously, I shall try this soonest; wonder if it works using the floor instead of the wall?

Be safe.

Who'd he get that shoe from? Don Johnson?

I remember my grandpa doing that with the palm of his hand on the cheap wine bottles, that's when he took his time-- he opened a few by busting the top off on the edge of the fire pit. :D

I have failed to replicate these results with a Teva flip-flop, a cowboy boot, Sorels, Sebago deck shoe, and other handily available experimental footgear...
