how to post photos using Flickr - thanks for the help

Is there a trick to posting photos I use from my account in Flickr?

I have tried hitting "share" in Flickr, and then pasting the link into the forum box "please enter thr URL of your image", but the photo does not appear.

Thanks, but the forum instructions listed are for Photobucket.

I'm not using Photobucket any more. Too many ads and warnings about imbedded viruses.

There is one of the format options on Flickr that has the codes you need, but also has a bunch of extraneous stuff you might not want to post. You can edit it down to just the code you need and paste it into the reply box. Use Preview to test it and see what it will look like.

It is a little fiddly, but it works. There is probably an easier way, but I haven't figured it out yet.

OK, Got it.

Select the right curving arrow to "Share Photo".

Select "BBCode" and the "Original" size from the popdown menu.

Copy the link.

You can delete everything after the second "url", when you paste it into the thread.

Thanks for the help...

When I select the photo and then the "share" option arrow, it goes to a new page and gives me a link to the picture, and the option to share to facebook, tumbler, twitter or pinterest.
If I copy the provided link to the photo that is in the box just below the option buttons, and paste it here on the forum, the link I attached doesn't work.

I don't see an option for "bbcode" anywhere on the "share" page.

It's going to depend on your starting point. If you are on the camera roll click over to photostream. If you double click the picture in camera roll that should bring the picture into full view. Down on the lower right of the photo is an option to view on photo page. That is where you want to be.

From there use the curved arrow at the bottom right of the image, select BBCode, choose appropriate size, for me it's 1024X576 which will show the URL in blue. Right click the URL, choose copy and then paste it into the post. Hit review to proof or post if you feel lucky.
