How to reduce gap on new grips

The fitment on these new grips are great with the exception of one spot. There is a noticeable gap on the top right of the grip. Is there anyway for me to warp the wood back in? Myabe soak it in water and keep pressure on it while it dries. Any ideas from you wood crafts people out there?

Send them back and get a replacement set. If they are Thailand grips, get a refund.

Don't know what brand they are or if they are aftermarket or OE, but they look to be laminated, so wetting them and forcing them back into shape will not work. I would return them to whoever you bought them from and ask for replacements

They are from eBay. Someone removed them from their 629 talo edition. These are the original grips on that gun, I believe they are made by altamond. I cannot return them, they are real wood and not laminate.

I really like Altamont grips. They are a great company - and I have had many communications with their sales/customer service and they always come through.

Why not email them (address on their site) and ask them how to proceed? They just might make you an offer you can't refuse.

Look at the frame

Measure the frame on both sides..make sure it's the grips, might be just the photo angle but it looks like the frame is not symmetrical..

The only thing you can do is put a hot iron on the inside part of that one grip. Hopefully it might raise the wood a little. Just like you were trying to take a dent out of wood.

I figured it out. It was this screw on the frame. The head of the screw sticks out just a hair so I went ahead and dimpled the inside of the grips where the screw head sits. The gap is no longer there. Thanks for everyone's input, this forum is very helpful.

That screw that was giving you problems should probably be a flathead machine screw. You can get a replacement screw, should you so desire, from Midway. Or, you can do as you just did and dimple the wood.

That is the wrong screw for the top sideplate screw location.
