I wear gloves shooting my M41. The bulk of the gloves hits the safety and it goes on when I am in the middle of a string.

Can anyone provide me with step-by-step instruction on how to remove the safety?

Have you tried tightening the safety? I was also having problems with mine. I took the grips off and removed the screw that held the bent piece of metal that's the detent for the safety. I bent it a little more and reinstalled it. The safetyis very stiff now and have not had another unintentional activation since.

Hmmm, that's interesting. Most guys complain that the safety is always way to stiff and want to know how to loosen it.

Anyway, remove the grips, remove the screw and bend the safety spring metal detent in a bit to tighten it up. Reinstall and your problem should be solved.

Another suggestion is to hit the sharp edge of the safety switch with a very fine Arkansas stone once or twice. This will take off the very sharp edge and should help prevent it from catching on your gloves.

What I really want to do is eliminate the safety altogether. I never use it, it is in the way and annoying as heck when it goes on in the middle of a string.

There must be a way to remove it altogether.

Just bend and tighten it as I described above) and it will never bother you again - but STILL be available if needed. Just saying.............

OK, I did as you suggested and it worked fine at my competition yesterday.

Many thanks to everyone in this forum.
