Inside a pistol rug? Have it dry cleaned? Is there a chemical available to do this?

Throw it away and purchase a new one! Of course I know that some are quite expensive and this is not a option. It would be like cleaning the fake sheep skin liner in a jacket, it can probably be done but will never look or feel the same. And no I have not a clue as to how to do it.

I would use "Tuff Stuff" that comes in a spray can and is meant to clean car's interiors, rugs, seats, etc. The stuff works GREAT and drys fast. Very reasonable and is available in any Auto Parts Store.

Advance Auto Parts - Down for Maintenance

Dawn Dish Soap would also work but takes a lot longer to dry. I'd try the Tuff Stuff first.

Aways wipe your pistol down with a clean oily cotton or micro fiber rag BEFORE placing back into gun rug. It will keep the interior a whole lot cleaner.

I know that cleaning real sheepskin is done by using corn meal. Might work on the fake stuff. (I inherited a flight jacket from my Dad and that's how I cleaned it. He told me that that's what he was instructed to use when he was in the military during WWII) Not very expensive and if it doesn't work, you can always make muffins. :D

The correct term is Faux:)

Look at the label, if it is what I believe it is, it is either
Polypropylene or some other poly synthetic,

Just wash it or use, as mentioned some car fabric cleaner.

I think I would be inclined to just toss it as who knows what any residue left from any cleaner other than soap and water might do to a gun's finish...

I got to the advanced auto parts store in town today and managed to get a can of the "Tuff Stuff" you suggested. It came out very good almost like when I acquired it many years back. Thank you, you were stop on, sir.
