Chuckle for the day....hopefully? :)

After 2 MRI's, a CT scan, 4 endoscopy procedures, 2 trips to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL and a slew of biopsies it has been determined that Kathy has pancreatic cancer.

The good news is that they consider it to be in a very early stage, and she should make a full recovery after the extremely invasive Whipple surgery that will be performed on Christmas eve at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL.

I am confident that she is in the best hands possible at Mayo

We were married this year on Feb. 7th, and she is passed the 3 day, non use inspection period.

Early stage detection is the only way pancreatic cancer can be defeated. Terrible diagnosis but very hopeful outcome!

They transplant all kinds of organs and I asked a few Dr.s why the couldn't treat pancreatic cancer this way. They all blew me off in various manners until the last one I asked actually offered a valid reason. Pancreatic cancer usually displays no symptoms so by the time it is discovered, it has already metastasized to the liver and other vital organs, making treatment, including a transplant impossible or of no use. That is why it has the reputation of being so deadly - not because it's more deadly than most cancers but because it has spread so much by the time it is detected.

I pray the doctors are 100% correct in their belief that they caught it early! Good luck to you both!

BTW: #1 could have had my picture instead of El Gato.

That's what Mrs. Tinyman had. Did the 'scope' and collected biopsies. Pancreatic, liver and kidney cancer. My love passed on Mother's Day this year just 4 months short of 54 years. She's with Jesus so she is out of pain. Her health was so fragile, treatment was not an option.

I can't figure #5

, the two unfortunates must be cousins.

I'm buying into your reaction to Kathy's prognosis, if you're optimistic it must be so.
All my Best
