Hunter Holster

I too am a fan of Hunter Holsters. They are hard to beat for open carry while afield. I have several that don't see as much use as I would like, but I keep hoping retirement will soon arrive. I have an eBay saved search for them and they very often turn up at low cost. But then, my handguns are all shooters, no collectable safe queens.

In 1971 I bought a Ruger Blackhawk , Hunter floral "carved" gun belt , Hunter fast draw holster to make a rig just like the TV Western hero's all carried , leather leg tie down...I was a "gunslinger" !
I still have it but but sadly my waist expanded (or the belt shrunk) ....it don't fit no more but I can't let it go. The Hunter rig was my first .
One day I might loose weight.....
My rig sorta looked like crazyphil's , only brown leather and floral carved....cool !

Sounds like you got a winner with some sentimental value too. I would just take the holster off the old belt and get a new belt made that closely matches the old one. Forget about loosing weight and become a TV western hero again!:)

I got to thinking about what you said , discovered Hunter is still in business , they still make my Frontier , " quick draw" , holster.
Today it costs $160.00 !!!!
Checked out the cost of a new Western Single Drop Gun Belt
Would you believe ..... $115.00 !!!! Holey Moley .

If the old drop belt design were practical I might consider it but I soon learned that rig might be good for fast draw....but that was about it. The gun rode down too low . I soon got a Bianchi 1L Lawman holster that rides higher up on a regular belt and found it much more practical and useful.
I might go look at Ebay and see if I can find a cheaper used one , get back into watching Gunsmoke and Marshall Dillion.
