My friend Tim and I each brought a pair of grips to breakfast and did a trade this morning. He had a pair of John Hurst K-frame checkered grips. I had a pair of Pat Grashorn elk stag grips for an N-frame. He has already posted them on his 624. They look awesome and I didn’t have a suitable N frame for them. I’m fascinated with Hurst grips. I couldn’t afford the price when I was a Police Officer in the 70’s. These came courtesy of member Hoosier45, former LAPD to Tim, KANSASGUNNER some time ago. I have a lettered LAPD 15-3 that came to me from Larry21556, former LAPD. I’m guessing they both new John Hurst. So it’s together. I’ve included a photo of my 14-2 with another pair of Hurst grips. Since these were custom made, these were made for people with large hands and fit me well. The newer ones were probably made for a left handed officer. Enjoy. Jh

Nice! All you need now is a spit-shined Safety Speed clamshell holster. John's grips are becoming quite collectible. He would be amused at their popularity.

Honestly I’d kind of forgotten about them and a couple of years ago, I got fired up after watching a couple of Uncle Scotty videos on YouTube. Then it became a quest to find a correct LAPD gun and some grips. I bought another pair of Hurst grips and they were smallish for my mitts. I forgot Tim had these. Glad he helped and so did Larry with his brother’s former duty gun.
