As any of you know that have either purchased or even simply just looked at the M&P10, it's not the most attractive rifle put out. After having mine for about 6 weeks, I believe I've finally rectified "what's wrong" ("what's wrong is simply my opinion & in no way should reflect upon how YOU view YOUR rifle)
the first thing I did is get rid of the stock that came with the rifle and put on a simple little Magpul MOE stock (mil-spec):
Another area that I felt could be greatly improved upon is the grip, so off with the grip and on with a Magpul MOE+ grip:
Have you really paid attention to the Flash Hider? No way that thing will grace my rifle; YHM 5C2:
I researched various rails & handguards, and after reading all the feedback on all the different ones, I decided to go with the Troy Battlerail trx-308 (13.8", DPMS pattern, LOW profile). It fits perfectly & there is no height difference beteen the upper & the rail:
On the bottom of the handguard, I used the included 4" rail & mounted a 2nd generation Magpul VFG:
When it came to optics, I chose to mount a Nikon Prostaff 4-12 X 40 BDC:
in a Burris P.E.P.R. mount:
Throw everything together & you'll have to admit that there's quite a difference in appearance..hopefully, there's an improvement with respect to accuracy, as well:
