I bought it just now off of Gunbroker. Here is a picture I lifted off the auction site.

According to the listing the gun is 92% with the original box. Additional high res pictures are here

Congratulations. I bought one last month on Gunbroker and I hope yours turns out as good as mine when you have it in hand.

Congrats! Time for a letter, perhaps. You might uncover some interesting history. It does appear to have a little holster wear, ... just the right amount in my opinion.

Yes, I do plan to shoot it. I don't see how a few dozen rounds could hurt it. The purchase price was $4550 plus shipping. I need to withdraw funds from my IRA (spending my kid's inheritance), so I doubt I will have it for a couple of weeks.

There is a man in town that has a very nice registered magnum in nickel. It has a King sight as this one apparently does. He has a letter on it. He has stag grips, but said he had the originals and the asking price is $7200. I guess I am fairly lucky, many people will never see a registered magnum and I have held one and will soon own one.

I have touched up other guns with cold blue so you cannot tell there was ever any holster wear, but on a high dollar gun like this it will remain ungoobered. I do believe I'll order a letter.

How rare is it to have the original box?

Very nice. I personally like them best with a little bit of wear, exactly like yours. That way you can shoot and enjoy it without feeling like you have to put on kid gloves.

I hope to someday own one just like it.

I do suspect you will love shooting it, Registered Magnums are a magical thing.

Congratulations on a great acquisition. I have one RM "shooter" and one RM "safe queen". I can tell you that I get a lot more enjoyment out of the "shooter" :)
