I got a chance to verify what I thought. 9mm, 95 grain RN, Hi Tek coated Missouri bullet. 7.9 gr of Power PISTOL. Had a very productive day at the range. Chrono'd these at 1720 fps out of a Ruger 9mm Carbine (16" barrel). I think that 'Screamers' is a good name for them. They help me range out a little farther with less drop. I was hitting the target pretty good with the peep sight at 50 yards. Next trip I'll try it out at 75, maybe 100 yds, If I can see that far with a peep sight. Cost/savings be hanged. Reloading is FUN!🤑

I'd say that 1720 fps is screamin'! I'm just a bit curious to know how the super light 9mm bullet performs as far as consistency in heavy wind. Our Club's outdoor range is usually windy enough to knock down steel target frames. Sometimes we get a calm day, but it's usually fairly windy.

Did you try those loads out of a stanard 4" or a long 5" barrel
to see how the accuracy was, for that load?
I did not have good results with light bullets in any of my 9mm's.

That is a speedy load, for sure !

Many moons ago I tried (I think) 90 gr Sierra HPs for 380...Out of a rifle they may be ok...but out of a handgun they were not what I would call great loads. . I had a 9mm carbine too. Sold it...Fun to shoot I guess but not very much utility for me....I can shoot a much heavier bullet at those speeds out of my 357 Lever gun

How did that Power Point work out for you? Better than Excel?:D

It was windy yesterday, but I had no problem and the ranges weren't long enough to really affect anything. I'd guess with a light pill of 9mm dia that a crosswind would surely affect them.

I should have tried that but I'll save that for the indoor range. I'd bet that accuracy isn't their strong suit.

I wish I HAD a .375 lever gun. My 9mm carbines and the AR are my favorite rifles to shoot for fun. Nevada Ed was talking about the loads out of a pistol and I'll give them a try when I go to the indoor range.

I’ve got one of the old original Ruger Police Carbines in 9mm with optional ghost ring sights. Based on my experience you’ll have no problem seeing and hitting at 75yds. 100yds and it’s iffy on a 9” plate but ez peze on a 20”x24” silhouette

I've got the ballistic charts with trajectories for all of my loads. These start to drop pretty good after 75 yards. They drop about 4" at 100. Not bad and what I wanted in a more flat shooting round. My problem is seeing with iron sites at that distance. I prefer shooting with iron sights, but I need a little magnification to get me out to 100 yds.

OP, same here. At 100yds on a 9” plate the sight covers the plate completely. My eyes are bad as well with open sights. But I really like shooting a ghost ring sight. I shoot mostly at 50yds. In fact I just took a red dot off my 10/22 and I’m awaiting a set of TechSights for it.
