Washed my phone. It went through the wash cycle and was getting ready to rinse before I located it. I have it open as I can get it and using a warm heat hair dryer on it. It is an old flip phone. Took the battery out and that compartment is dry and one screen is clear and the other if getting there. I heard a little burp from it a minute ago.
It will get the rice treatment tomorrow. Have to get some from the store but it is too wet to go today.
Surely some one else has washed their phone. I hate to be the only one.

I've washed some ballpoints.
It's nice to have clean pens.
But haven't washed my Phone, at least not yet.
Good luck with the Rice.

rice

never washed my phone. mine usually fall overboard to the depths. what i find puzzling is no rice. i thought everyone had rice in pantry and or freezer. no disrespect intended just a different prospectus.

Rice works wonders. I keep all my ammo in ammo boxes with a sock of rice in every can. Also in the safe.

Never happened to me. Not yet that is.

I knew of friends that dropped theirs in:

Bucket with water and live fish.:D

Toilet. Didn't even asked at what stage of toilet use.

The Atlantic Ocean.

Several rivers.

Swimming pools.

No Sir. You are not alone.;)

One summer, many years ago, Ruthie had a flip phone shoved in her bra. She went upstairs to the loo and bent over to put the seat down (my bad).

The sudden gravitational shift caused the twins to jettison said phone into the bowl where it became lodged in the trap. I had to undo the loo.

Both the phone and the wax ring were total losses.

I have at least one phone at the bottom of the lake.
I did have a pair of hearing aids go through the washer and dryer and another pair went swimming with me. Who said silence is golden?

Around 2004 I was installing a new toilet seat in one of the apartments, and upon completion I slid back on my heals, which pushed the flip phone into the bowl. I scooped it out right away, scooped it out towel dried it and did the rice thing. It still worked.

In 2019, I bent over to empty the dehumidifier into the sump pump, and my Moto Maxi (smart phone) was baptized! Good thing too, it was DRT! Now it resides in phone heaven with thousands of other drowned phone souls!

Ivan.

Knock on wood, I haven't washed my smartphone, or baptized it in the toilet.

I did, however, wash the key fob for my push button start VW.

$200 later.......I throughly check my pants before washing them.

Never a phone but my Streamlight mini that I carry everywhere.
Did it twice. Never missed a beat. You should all carry one!

My wife one time dropped hers in a puddle, I opened it up and used the hair dryer, it only took a few minutes and it was working again.

I washed a full magazine once. Dumped the ammo and took the mag. apart for an oil soak.
